Bodegas Vinícola Real is a prestigious family-owned winery founded in 1989 by Miguel Ángel Rodríguez in Albelda de Iregua, La Rioja. The winery is internationally renowned for its 200 Monges label, named in tribute to the 200 monks of the historic Monastery of San Martín de Albelda, who handwrote the Codex Vigilanus in 976 AD.

This 1996 Reserva is a blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, and 5% Mazuelo. It was aged for 24 months in French and American oak barrels.

The bottles are in excellent preservation condition and have been stored in a temperature-controlled wine cellar.

Older vintages of 200 Monges are difficult to find due to their high demand and limited production.
