Bodegas Carlos Serres is a historic winery founded in 1896 and located in Haro (La Rioja). The winery is named after its founder, Carlos Serres. Of French origin, Carlos Serres settled in La Rioja in 1885 after fleeing the phylloxera epidemic that devastated French vineyards. From its earliest days, the winery had a strong export focus and became one of the leading ambassadors of Rioja wines abroad. In fact, it was the first winery officially registered as an exporter.

Today, the winery is owned by the Vivanco family, who continue the legacy of Carlos Serres Bodegas.

This Gran Reserva 1973 is made primarily from Tempranillo, with a small percentage of Graciano and Mazuelo. The 1973 vintage was not originally classified as outstanding, but over the years wine has aged exceptionally well and has become a sought-after vintage among lovers of mature Rioja wines.

Bottles are in good condition, with an approximate fill level of 3.5 cm below the cork.
