Chartreuse is the most enigmatic and sought-after liqueur in the world. Produced by Carthusian monks in the French Alps since the 18th century, it is unquestionably the most coveted and appreciated elixir. Its recipe is based on an ancient manuscript called ‘The Elixir of Long Life’. Chartreuse is made with more than 130 botanical plants. Old bottles fetch astronomical prices on the secondary market, especially those produced in Tarragona, where the monks were exiled before returning to France. The recipe for Chartreuse is known only by two monks. Without a doubt, it is the most prestigious and iconic liqueur.

We estimate this bottle is from the period 1956-1964. Cork closure. Bottle in good condition for its age.
