SOLD
Wine produced by Bodegas Franco-Españolas. Founded in 1890 by Frederick Anglade Saurat, originally from Bordeaux (France), due to the need of French winegrowers to replace their vineyards devastated by phylloxera. This marks the origin of Rioja fine wines. In 1920, 15 years after Anglade’s death, the French shareholders sold their shares and the winery became entirely Spanish. In 1984, Marcos Eguizábal purchased the winery, which remains in the hands of the Eguizábal family.
Bottle number 27348. The Tête Cuvée wines from Bodegas Franco-Españolas used to remain between 18-24 months in large wooden vats, where malolactic fermentation was completed and the wine rested before racking. Afterwards, it spent between 48-60 months in American oak barrels, during which periodic rackings were carried out. Once bottled, they were aged for a minimum of 6 years in the winery cellars before being released to the market. True gems of the Rioja Denomination of Origin.
Bottle in acceptable condition, with the liquid level at the base of the neck. Label slightly stained.
