Bodegas Rafael López de Heredia Viña Tondonia was founded in 1877 in Haro by Don Rafael López de Heredia. This centenary winery embodies the purest form of classicism within the Rioja Designation of Origin. A family-run winery since its inception, it is now headed by the fourth generation, represented by the three López Heredia Montoya siblings (María José, Mercedes and Julio). López de Heredia sources its grapes from its own vineyard, acquired by their great-grandfather. In keeping with tradition, they favour artisanal production methods, including fermentation in wooden vats, manual racking, and very long ageing periods in barrel and bottle. López de Heredia crafts their own barrels by hand, making it the only winery in Spain with its own barrel-making workshop. All their wines—red, white and even rosé—have exceptional ageing potential. Without a doubt, López de Heredia wines are prized, coveted and an essential addition to any wine lover’s or professional’s cellar.

Viña Gravonia 2007 white is made with 100% Viura grapes. It is aged for 4 years in oak barrels made by the winery itself and undergoes two manual racking per year. Bottled unfiltered and rested in the cellars before being released for sale.
