Founded in 1864 by Eloy Lecanda and managed by the Álvarez family since 1982, Vega Sicilia is Spain's most iconic winery and undoubtedly one of the best in the world. Since 1915, Único and Valbuena have been cult wines among wine enthusiasts. Today, Tempos Vega Sicilia is the name of the parent company that manages the group's wineries, which, in addition to the original Vega Sicilia, include four others: Alión, Pintia, Macán, and Tokaj-Oremus.

Vega Sicilia Único Reserva Especial 2017 is a blend of several vintages of Único, aged for what is likely the longest period of time in the world, approximately ten years between oak and bottle. French and American oak, new and used 225-liter barrels, 20,000-liter vats… A long and meticulous process for a great wine. Reserva Especial Único is made with 59 barrels from the 2003, 2004, and 2006 vintages.
