Bodegas Azpilicueta is one of the most emblematic and traditional wine brands of the Rioja DOCa. Its history began in 1881, when its founder, Félix Azpilicueta Martínez, took over a small family vineyard in the town of Fuenmayor (Rioja Alta).

Don Félix was a pioneering figure in the region. He participated in the first exports of Rioja wine to France, introduced technical innovations that were revolutionary for the time, and built the most modern winery of his era under the original name Bodegas del Romeral. Later, following commercial mergers during the 20th century, the winery became part of the well-known Bodegas AGE. Today, the brand belongs to Pernod Ricard Bodegas, and its wines are produced in modern, state-of-the-art facilities designed by architect Ignacio Quemada in Logroño.

The 1982 vintage is considered legendary within the Rioja DOCa. This Azpilicueta Gran Reserva 1982 is a blend of Tempranillo, Mazuelo, and Graciano, aged for approximately 30 months in American oak barrels.

The bottle is in excellent condition, with the fill level at the base of the neck. It has been stored in a temperature-controlled wine cellar.
