Founded in 1987, the winery is located in a cellar in the famous Barrio de la Estación in Haro, the cradle of Rioja wine, where century-old wineries such as Rafael Lopez de Heredia and Muga are also found. Bodegas Roda manages around twenty vineyard plots in the best ecosystems of the region, from which the finest grapes are vinified each year. At Roda, vinification takes place in French oak vats with temperature control. Aging is carried out in French oak barrels throughout. Roda wines symbolize the new style of Rioja, brought to perfection.

Cirsión is the super-premium wine of the winery. Unlike the Crianza, Reserva or Gran Reserva categories, Cirsión is made from selected vines whose grapes have matured exceptionally well.

The 1999 vintage was the second to be released to the market. It is almost impossible to find this vintage nowadays.
