Founded in 1987, Bodegas Roda is located in a cellar in the renowned Station District of Haro, the birthplace of Rioja wine, home to century-old wineries such as Rafael López de Heredia and Muga. Bodegas Roda manages some twenty vineyards in the area's finest ecosystems, from which the best grapes are vinified each year. At Roda, vinification takes place in temperature-controlled French oak vats. Aging is carried out entirely in French oak barrels. Roda's wines embody the new style of Rioja, perfected to perfection.

Cirsión is the winery's super-premium wine, far removed from the parameters of aging, reserve or gran reserva, Cirsión is a wine from selected vines where the grapes have ripened exceptionally.

The 1999 vintage was the second to be released. It is almost impossible to find this vintage on the market.
