Bodegas Fariña is a historic family-owned winery, founded in 1942 in the province of Zamora within the framework of the Toro Denomination of Origin. It is recognized for transforming the reputation of Toro. Most of their vineyards are planted with the local Tinta de Toro grape (a clone of Tempranillo).

Gran Colegiata Reserva 1994 is made from 100% Tempranillo and has been aged in American oak barrels for 18 months.

Wines from Toro are generally characterized by their power and structure, and they have a long ageing potential.
