La Rioja Alta S.A. is one of the oldest wineries in La Rioja. Founded in the 19th century, specifically in 1890, it is one of the most historic and prestigious wineries in the Spanish wine world. Its brands are synonymous with high quality. A pioneering winery in the production of fine wines for more than 125 years. Among its range, the Gran Reserva 904 and the Gran Reserva 890 stand out. Other notable labels from the winery include Viña Arana, Viña Ardanza, and Viña Alberdi.

The Gran Reserva 890 is the jewel in the crown of the winery. It is its most prestigious wine, described by the winery as unique, special, timeless, and eternal. At All Drinks Auction, we fully agree with these descriptions.

The production of this magnificent wine is limited to only the most exceptional vintages.

The 1998 vintage is composed of 95% Tempranillo, 3% Mazuelo, and 2% Graciano. It was aged in oak barrels for 72 months, during which 12 rackings were carried out. Bottled in September 2006 without filtration.
