La Rioja Alta S.A. is one of the oldest wineries in Rioja. Founded in the 19th century, specifically in 1890, it is one of the most historic and prestigious wineries in the Spanish wine world. Its brands are synonymous with outstanding quality. The winery has been a pioneer in the production of fine wines for more than 125 years. Among its flagship wines are Gran Reserva 904 and Gran Reserva 890. Other notable labels from the winery include Viña Arana, Viña Ardanza, and Viña Alberdi.

The 1890-1990 Commemorative Edition is a special bottling produced to commemorate the winery’s centenary. Made from the 1973 vintage, the wine underwent both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in the winery’s original founding foudres for 24 months, followed by 120 months of aging in American oak barrels. The wine was bottled in mid-1986 and released to the market in 1990.

The bottle is in exceptional condition. It has been stored in a wine cellar under controlled temperature conditions.
