La Rioja Alta SA is one of the oldest wineries in the Rioja region. Founded in 1890, it is among the most historic and prestigious wineries in the Spanish wine industry. Its brands are synonymous with outstanding quality, and the winery has been a pioneer in the production of fine wines for more than 125 years. Among its most renowned wines are the Gran Reserva 904 and Gran Reserva 890. Other notable labels from the winery include Viña Arana, Viña Ardanza, and Viña Alberdi.

According to the winery, the 1985 vintage was excellent, comparable to the celebrated 1970 vintage. The wine was produced from 85% Tempranillo and 15% Mazuelo and Graciano. It was aged for 60 months in American oak barrels (from March 1986 to March 1991) and bottled in April 1991.

Bottle condition: Excellent preservation condition, with the wine level at the base of the neck. Spectacular!
