La Cueva del Contador is a premium red wine and the historic underground winery where the winemaker Benjamín Romeo founded the acclaimed Bodega Contador project in the village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, within the Rioja DOCa appellation. The name refers to the original centuries old cave excavated beneath the village castle, traditionally used for wine aging.

Sadly, for the wine world, Benjamín Romeo passed away a few days ago. May he rest in peace. Our sincerest condolences to his family.
