Bodegas Luis Cañas is a family-owned winery located in Villabuena, in the Rioja Alavesa sub-region. The Cañas family has been involved in the wine industry for four generations. The winery was founded in 1970, when they began bottling and marketing their own wines. Prior to that, they sold wine in bulk to other producers in the area.

Reserva 2001 is a blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano. The average age of the vineyards is 40 years. The wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and 6 months in American oak barrels.

Bottles are in excellent storage condition.
