The origins of the historic Marqués de Murrieta winery date back to 1852, when Don Luciano de Murrieta built the Castillo de Ygay on his estate and produced the first Rioja wine. Since 1983, the Cebrián family has carried on the legacy, maintaining the spirit of innovation, quality, and excellence that has made it one of the most prestigious wineries in the world today.

This Castillo Ygay Reserva Especial 1934 was bottled in 1974 after 40 years of barrel aging. It spent 408 months in American oak barrels, 48 months in semi-new barrels, and 8 months in tanks before bottling. This bottle represents the living history of the craftsmanship and excellence of this magnificent century-old winery.


It is a blend of: 55% Tempranillo,18% Mazuelo,16% Garnacha and11% Graciano


The bottle is in excellent condition and has been stored in a temperature-controlled wine cellar
