The origins of Marqués de Murrieta date back to 1852, when Don Luciano de Murrieta built Ygay Castle on his estate and produced the first Rioja wine. Since 1983, the Cebrián family has carried on the legacy of maintaining the spirit of innovation, quality, and excellence, establishing the winery as one of the most prestigious in the world today.

This 1970 Gran Reserva was aged for 36 months in American oak barrels, with regular semi-annual rackings carried out to naturally clarify the wine through traditional decanting methods.

The 1970 vintage is considered a legendary and exceptional harvest in the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin (D.O.Ca. Rioja), giving this wine remarkable longevity and structure over the decades.

Bottle in good condition. Fill level at the upper shoulder.
