La Rioja Alta S.A. is one of the oldest wineries in Rioja. Founded in 1890, it is one of the most historic and prestigious wineries in the Spanish wine world. Its brands are synonymous with outstanding quality. A pioneering winery in the production of fine wines, it boasts more than 125 years of history. Among its most renowned wines are Gran Reserva 904 and Gran Reserva 890. Other notable labels from the winery include Viña Arana, Viña Ardanza, and Viña Alberdi.

Due to the exceptional 2010 vintage, La Rioja Alta granted its Viña Ardanza the status of “Selección Especial” (Special Selection), an honor previously awarded only to the 1964, 1973, and 2001 vintages.
