Bodegas Rafael López de Heredia Viña Tondonia was founded in 1877 in Haro by Don Rafael López de Heredia. This century-old winery represents the purest concept of classicism within the Rioja Denomination of Origin. Family-run from its beginnings, it is currently managed by the fourth generation, represented by the three López Heredia Montoya siblings (María José, Mercedes, and Julio). López de Heredia sources its grapes from its own vineyard, acquired by their great-grandfather. In keeping with tradition, they commit to artisanal winemaking, fermentation in wooden vats, manual racking, and very long ageing periods in barrel and bottle. López de Heredia crafts its own barrels by hand, making it the only winery in Spain with its own barrel workshop. Their red, white, and even rosé wines have an exceptional capacity for ageing over many years. Without a doubt, López de Heredia wines are highly valued, sought-after, and a must-have in the cellar of any wine enthusiast or professional.

Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco is made from Viura and Malvasía grapes. It undergoes a long ageing of 6 years in oak barrels crafted by the winery itself and is subject to two racking per year. Bottled unfiltered and rested in the winery cellars before being released for sale.
