Red wine from the historic winery CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España), founded in 1879 in Haro.

We are looking at a classic from the Denominación de Origen Calificación Rioja , especially appreciated by wine lovers who enjoy bottles aged for many years, thanks to their excellent aging potential. At All Drinks Auction, we are passionate about the Imperial 1970 Gran Reserva from this prestigious winery, as well as about this great icon of Spanish wine, the Imperial Gran Reserva.

The 1970 vintage is considered excellent and has achieved cult status among lovers of the great wines of the Rioja DOCa.

The bottle is in excellent condition, with the liquid level at the lower neck.

It is composed of 75% Tempranillo, 15% Graciano, and 10% Mazuelo.

Aged in American oak barrels for more than 40 months, followed by a bottle refinement period of no less than 72 months in the winery cellars before being released to the market. Imperial is only produced in years of exceptional harvests.
