C.N. Kopke is universally recognized as the oldest Port wine house in the world. It was founded in 1638 by Nicolau Kopke, a diplomat of the Hanseatic League. Based in Portugal’s Douro Valley, at the magnificent Quinta de São Luiz estate, the house is renowned for its meticulous wood-aging techniques and its historic hand-stencilled bottles. Kopke is famous for having established the global benchmark for aged Tawny Ports and rare single-harvest Colheita Ports.
Unlike Vintage Ports, which age in bottle, a Colheita is a Tawny-style Port from a single harvest that is aged in oak casks for a minimum of seven years before bottling.
This 1999 Colheita was bottled in 2017 after 18 years of cask aging.
Bottle in perfect condition with original box.
